I was wondering if there were any weddings that incorporated a wedding photo download station for their guests at their wedding, so I did some research and found that there were couples who were incorporating a DIY Wedding Download Photo Station for their guests. The reason why this photo station was incorporated into wedding receptions is that there are instances when the photographer you hired will not be able to get all the photos that your guests would take at the wedding ceremony and reception site, so it is a nice option incorporate a download photo station at your reception.
The first option I will discuss is the "do it yourself" option because it is a little cheaper and if you are tech savvy all you need to do is find someone who is willing to man the wedding photo download station or hire a college student to man the station for a while.
Recommended Items:
• 1 Laptop (Purchase one or use one a friend’s laptop for FREE)
• 2 USB Flash Drives
• 1 USB Memory Card Reader
• A Computer Savvy Friend or Hire College Student
• Plug In’s (Outlet Close By)
• Surge Protector
Guests Items:
• Digital Camera with External Flash Card
• 2 USB Flash Drives
Wedding Favors:
• Custom USB Key
• DVD Wedding Favors
When setting up your photo station place your laptop near the door at the reception site, so you can make sure you obtain the guests photos when they enter or leave the building. Make sure that the MC or DJ makes casual announcement reminders throughout the evening regarding the download photo station. You can also print out note cards on the table or create signage to remind the guests about the wedding download photo station as well.
The second option is for those who are not computer savvy, I found this great option online named the Canditto.
Canditto is a small box where guests can upload images taken at the wedding. It is pretty simple to use and this rules out recruiting or hiring a person to man the wedding photo station.
