Wedding Cookie Favor Tree

Published by The Budget-Minded Bride Blog at 2:55 PM

I was researching ideas for weddings and wondered if anyone started this trend yet and found one company who has designed a wedding cookie favor tree and the designs are made by Shara. I love this idea. Not only can you use this as a cookie favor tree, but I would suggest you use it as a wish tree as well.

The tree can be rented at Fabu Event Decor,or purchase a tree at Michael's Craft Store, the favor cookies can be purchased with Shara or your local bakery, and the wish leaves can be purchased at WicksnCandlesticks.

Create Your Own Signage - Just Married

Published by The Budget-Minded Bride Blog at 2:15 PM

I found some inspiration for a great do it yourself project for your wedding party, its creating "just married" sign. Martha Stewart has some awesome decorations for the bride and grooms car and they are fairly simple to create.

Instructions:
1. Using a craft knife and a metal straight edge, cut the cardstock into rectangles, using the guide marks on the edge of the paper (do not cut all the way to the edge of the paper; this will keep the guide marks from being lost as you make subsequent cuts).

2. Use a slot paper punch (we got ours at createforless.com) to cut 2 holes in the blank area above the number. Place each the same distance in from the edge, and duplicate the placement on each subsequent card. (Make-it-easy tip: Print 1 extra number on normal printer paper, and cut out. Fold it in half vertically, and draw a line 1-1/8" in from the outside edge. Position the punch along this line, about 1" from the top edge. Punch through both layers. Unfold the number, smooth out its crease, and use as a master template for punching card stock.)

3. Thread a ribbon through the slots to connect the cards, and attach ribbon to the car or wall.

Brides and Grooms Go Tech Savvy with E-Newsletters and Wedding Websites

Published by The Budget-Minded Bride Blog at 11:40 PM

I was just thinking about what a great way for couples to be tech savvy by keeping the wedding party and guests involved and included in the wedding process with an online with an e-newsletter and a website.

A great tool brides and grooms can use is Mail Chimp or EZ Newsletter for e-newsletters. Mail Chimp and EZ Newsletter are technically used for email marketing campaigns, but both programs are very user-friendly for all and offers a variety of color themed templates. This e-newsletter can be used for wedding purposes to keep your wedding party and guests up to date on information about the wedding itinerary, gift registry, the couple’s journey up to the wedding day, and much more (see image example of e-newsletter).

Matter of fact, this e-newsletter can also be hyper linked to a wedding website. We love to use free wedding websites, just like on Project Wedding. There are plenty of beautifully designed templates you can choose from on this website. Information the couple would need on their wedding website would include important information about the wedding event, wedding maps, the couples love story, wedding photos, engagement photos, accommodations for out of town guests, transportation, directions, local attractions, gift registry, honeymoon fund, guestbook, and email contact information.

If you are a tech savvy bride and groom, using both e-newsletters and websites will help the wedding party and guests keep up to date on the latest and greatest information on the couple and the wedding. Try the e-newsletter and website out and please keep me informed, because I would love to feature your techie wedding outcome with using e-newsletters and a website or even share your wedding story on www.wicksncandlesticks.com .

When selecting your wedding songs there are many to choose from, but I found this great top forty song that was a remake on YouTube of musical artist Mandy Moore singing musical artist Rhianna's song titled "Umbrella". This is truly a twist on unique song that makes it very meaningful for you or your that special person in your life.

For your wedding find that song that carries a special meaning for both of you, search you tube, i tunes, or wedding websites. Each website has a variety of musical selections you can choose from and uncover a great song that can be used for your special day.

Bachelorette Party for the Bride to Be

Published by The Budget-Minded Bride Blog at 11:18 AM

Throwing a bachelorette party can be the best experience and the most memorable event of a brides life, but when a friend takes charge of this party make sure she knows you well enough to make sure it is a fun girls night out for all. Make sure you do not alienate your guest or let the party festivities get out of hand. You still can plan a party to make it fun for everyone.

Some bachelorette party ideas we designed for our customers includes event-based or travel-based parties. Examples of event-based parties would be dessert-testing, wine testing, or cocktail hour parties at your local pub or lounge. Be creative and make your own bachlorette party themes such as disco, country, flower power, but be sure to include matching favors with the party theme. By holding an event-based bachelorette party, it is more organized, but still lots of fun for all guests.

Travel-based parties would be visiting a local comedy club, line dancing, casino, karaoke, camping, or even a 3-day weekend cruise package. If you are staying in the local area make the event fun by hiring a chauffeur-driven limo or a chartered bus company to have your group travel in style! Make sure everyone meets in the same place and hotel accommodations are set in advance, so if you are consuming alcoholic beverages your guests know they have a safe place they can return to in the evening.

Whichever type of party you decide to design for the bride be sure a proper amount of planning is involved, create a functional itinerary, and order your themed-based favors for a fun-filled night with the girls.

Remember, after the creating the guest list for the party, you will have a better idea of what type of party will be hosted. If the bachlorette party has primarily coworkers, church friends or acquaintances it would be better to have an event-based party, but if you are inviting an intimate group of your very closest girlfriends, a travel-based party would be just the ticket for a girls night out on the town.
