3 Signs of a Bridezilla

Published by Rev. Angela Butts Chester at 4:05 PM

Planning your wedding need not turn you into the wicked witch of the west. Learning to designate tasks to others will help you in keeping the stress down and the arguments to a minimal. If you are being told by members of your bridal party that you are becoming "too much" to deal with, maybe you should listen.

It is quite easy to get completely wrapped up in the planning of a wedding, so much so, Bridezilla inevitably emerges as your alter ego. Here are 3 signs that you are turning into the Bridezilla:

1. Mico-Management: Despite having a wedding planner, she is determined to tell every vendor how to do their job down to the last detail. She has paid hundreds or even thousands of dollars to have everything just right, but does not trust that the professionals she's hired will not do the job properly.

2. Ungratefulness: If she is showing signs of being impatient, becoming over bearing and bossy, Bridezilla may be just around the corner. She must remember that her girlfriends and family members don't have to do the tasks they are doing. They are assisting on your special day because they love and care for you.

3. Being Ignored: Are your friends dropping like flies? Are they ignoring your calls and won't return your texts or emails? You have become to much to deal with and they need a break. This is done in an effort to give you a nonverbal warning that you have become a Bridezilla; they just don't want to tell you.

Remember, the professionals that you have hired, are just that - Professionals. They are good in their field and will make your day as you have specified. Your friends and family members are there to help you, not take on your abuse. Be mindful of your attitude and actions at all times. If you are feeling overwhelmed, tell someone. Keep your Bridezilla at bay.

5 Classic Boutonnieres for under $15 dollars

Published by The Budget-Minded Bride Blog at 12:31 AM

There are five classic boutonnieres that never go out of style are the stephanotis, orchid, rose, calla lily, and lavender. The boutonnieres symbolizes many messages for the groom and for the wedding couple. The stephanotis symbolizes marital happiness, rosemary symbolizes remembrance, orchid is a symbol of perfection, calla lily symbolizes purity, chastity, and innocence, and lavender symbolizes luck and is known for its calming affects.

When designing the boutonnieres make certain it matches with the bridal bouquet by either using an accent piece from the bouquet or the main flower of the bouquet. The groomsmen boutonnieres should also compliment the groom’s boutonnieres, but the groom’s boutonniere will always provide a more unique and distinguished touch. The other wedding party members that will receive a boutonniere would be the groom, groomsmen, ushers, and ring bearer. Needing help with attaching your boutonnieres to the male wedding party members? Read our boutonniere tips for pinning on the perfect boutonniere.

Boutonniere Tips
# 1 Hold the boutonniere by its stem and have the flower facing away from the
wedding party member.
# 2 Place the boutonniere at a slight angle on the lapel, approximately
4 inches in from the tip of the left shoulder.
# 3 Make sure that the flower is evenly placed on the lapel before attempting to pin it.
# 4 Use the stick pin and place into the bottom left corner of the stem.
# 5 Weave the pin back from under the fabric and push it approximately 1 inch laying it at angle, which is over the top of the stem.
# 6 Stick the tip of the pin back into the fabric on the other side of the stem. Insure that the stem is tightly in place with the length of the pin pushing it down.
# 7 Weave the pin back out of the fabric once more. Be sure that the very tip of the pin does not stick out, nor does it poke under the fabric and touch the skin (EHoW,2010).
