Kitchen 101

Published by Regina at 1:20 PM

I never really thought about how my kitchen was organized until I recently organized a clients kitchen for her.  Everything you use on a regular basis should be at an easy reach, whether it's your uppper or lower cabinets.

For those high to reach shelves in your kitchen, the items you do not use on a daily/regular basis or holiday use only items should go there.

Low on space in your pantry, add a shelving unit to the door for more storage.  We put the kids snacks on there, so the know where to look when they want a snack.

Check your food for expiration dates and place all items that are expiring soonest, in the front, with the food expiring later in the back to be sure you use up what is old first.

I have fallen in love with the Keep Tabs system from Tupperware (pictured to the left).  They are different sizes that nest inside each other for maximum storage capacity.  The biggest one is great for taking large quantities of cookies, cup cakes and the smallest, works great for little things for your lunch.  Such a variety of sizes, makes them great to use.  Great for storing loose packets of seasoning too, so you know where they all are!
