Merry Wedded Bliss

After any holiday is a great time to shop for your wedding decorations?  Why?  Well, because all the ribbon and baskets will be on sale. Why would you want to buy it at full price if your wedding colors correspond with a holiday color or two, when you can possibly get it on sale.

The only thing you have to loose is money should you have to pay full price.

My wedding color was dark green.  So after Christmas, we went to the local stores and bought ribbon and small votive candles to decorate the tables, discounted.

Don’t look at items as what they are, but what they can become.  Taking bulbs (silver or your wedding colors) and adding them into a vase with some flowers or wispy grass will make a beautiful decoration that is simple. Candy can be repackaged and giving as favors.  This is great if you want certain colors of M & Ms.  Different times of year, they are different colors and you didn’t pay more to order ‘special’ colors.

New Year’s - black items, hats, blow horns and noise makers.

Valentine’s Day - items that are red, pink and white, including hearts, gift bags and candy!

St. Patricks Day – Green, horse shoes, clovers, gold coins, all things Irish!

Easter – pastel colors, ribbons, baskets, eggs for favors and ribbons.

Mother’s Day – hats, gloves, Easter dresses (could be flower girl dresses), all things flowery. Good time to get Bridesmaid’s gifts.

Father’s Day – good time to get groomsmen gifts.

Fourth of July – All things red, white & blue, flags, baskets,

Halloween – black and orange items, decorations for that ‘theme’ wedding, pumpkin decorations, candy at a great discount for favors.

Thanksgiving – great for fall color weddings, ribbons, baskets, table decorations, reds, green, orange, brown colors.

Christmas - ribbon colors that you might use for making bows, but you can decorate tables with it, bulbs, gift bags, candy, white Christmas Belles work as wedding bells, and boxes.

Hanukkah  - blue items, candles and candy (great for favors).

Check here for a list of Hallmark Holiday lists of other holidays to possibly get deals on AFTER the holiday.  There are more, but I think these will be the ones you find sales on, there were far to many ‘Hallmark Holiday’s for me.
